Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The Review of Futures Markets (RFM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, ethical publishing, and scholarly excellence. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to the Review of Futures Markets are expected to present original research and provide an accurate account of the work performed and its significance. Manuscripts should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to evaluate the research.
Authors must ensure that:
- Submitted work is original and has not been published previously.
- The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal or publisher.

Fabrication of data, falsification of results, plagiarism, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, and other forms of research misconduct are strictly prohibited.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Peer review is an essential component of scholarly publishing and contributes to the quality and credibility of the Journal. Reviewers are expected to conduct evaluations objectively, fairly, and confidentially.
Reviewers should:
- Provide constructive and unbiased feedback.
- Evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all submitted materials.
- Identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
- Alert editors to any suspected ethical concerns, plagiarism, or substantial similarity with other publications.
- Decline review assignments where conflicts of interest exist.
Information obtained through the peer-review process must not be used for personal advantage or shared with unauthorized individuals.
Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, impartial, and efficient review process. Editorial decisions are based on the scholarly merit of submissions, including originality, significance, methodological quality, clarity, and relevance to the journal.
Editors shall:
- Evaluate manuscripts without discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, institutional affiliation, political beliefs, or personal characteristics of the authors.
- Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and recuse themselves when necessary.
- Take appropriate action when ethical concerns or allegations of misconduct arise.

The Editor-in-Chief retains final authority regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of submitted manuscripts.
Publication Malpractice
The Journal considers the following practices to be serious violations of publication ethics:

- Self-plagiarism
- Data fabrication
- Data falsification
- Duplicate or redundant publication
- Citation manipulation
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest
- Misrepresentation of authorship
- Peer-review manipulation
- Unauthorized use of copyrighted materials
- Artificial generation or manipulation of research findings
Where evidence of misconduct exists, the Editorial Board may investigate the matter and take appropriate action, including manuscript rejection, publication of corrections, article retraction, notification of institutions, or other corrective measures deemed necessary.
Corrections and Retractions
The Journal is committed to preserving the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Where significant errors, ethical concerns, or misconduct are identified, the Journal may publish corrections, corrigenda, expressions of concern, or retractions in accordance with established editorial procedures.
