Ayurveda is a traditional system of health knowledge that emphasizes balance, lifestyle practices, diet, personal routines, and the relationship between physical and mental well-being. In contemporary society, interest in Ayurveda has expanded beyond traditional settings as people increasingly explore holistic approaches to health and wellness. This paper examines the role of Ayurveda in promoting holistic health and well-being, focusing on Ayurvedic principles, lifestyle practices, dietary approaches, herbal traditions, preventive health, stress management, physical activity, mental well-being, and contemporary integration. Ayurveda approaches health through an individualized perspective and emphasizes maintaining balance through daily habits and preventive practices. These principles have contributed to its continuing cultural relevance and popularity in wellness contexts. However, traditional Ayurvedic concepts should be distinguished from scientifically established medical treatments, and the safety and effectiveness of individual Ayurvedic products or practices can vary. The paper argues that Ayurveda can be studied as an important traditional and cultural health system while encouraging responsible use, appropriate professional guidance, and evidence-informed healthcare decisions.
