Even though there has been a lot of progress toward gender equality in public life, education, and the workplace, gender roles and workplace inequality are still big sociological issues in the digital age. what effects gender norms, both historical and modern, have on career advancement, advancement opportunities, and job satisfaction. The socially constructed expectations of what men and women should do with their lives and what they should be able to do for a living are known as gender roles. Segregation by occupation, pay gaps, and obstacles to promotion are all symptoms of these expectations in action. the gender wage gap, discrimination in recruiting and promotion procedures, difficulties in balancing work and life, and the glass ceiling are all issues that contribute to the perpetuation of inequalities in the workplace. how diversity programs and legal safeguards fail to address the pervasiveness of gender inequality in business cultures and societal mores. The stories of oppressed people, especially women and members of gender minorities, who endure multiple types of persecution due to their race, class, ethnicity, and other social identities are highlighted.
